General Overview Of Education In India

27% of India’s young generation isn’t able to make use of education, teaching or working. Most of the working part are working in unofficial or unauthorized industry. Most of them haven’t got any labour safety principles. Unemployment is very widespread amongst the graduates from Universities.

India is between the northwest arm of the Arabian sea which is the gulf of Omman and the gulf of Bangladesh, in the north side there are the Himalayan mountains which goes directly towards the Indian ocean creating a triangular shape which forms South Asia. The worlds seventh largest land in the world at the same time the second most populated country in the world.

India has progressed starting with spice and silk and carried on with there very famous and valuable rocks and mines, because of this our eyes are always on these mysterious and rich country. But never the less when we have a look at the education system, we can see that not everything is very nice as it seems.

According to the Indian constitution to study from the ages between 6 and 14 is a fundamental right. As it is all around the world, kids go the private and public schools. 29% of kids between the ages 6-14 go to private schools. The ratio of public schools to private schools is 7/5.

The important part of India is the large amount of youngsters in the population

With 600 million people under the age of 25 is the largest in the world and 30 children are born every minute. It is said that the population will increase by 1% every year.

According to this information, India will surpass China and become the most populated country in the world by 2022.

If India can educate this demographical change successfully and create business opportunity, they will have an important advantage against other countries.

In 2011 India has recorded that 75% of 7-10 year olds can read and write. 85% is males and 69.5% are females. The percentages are actually high but for reading and writing it isn’t that great. The reading and writing levels varies from different ethnic and religious perspectives. The literacy of India is 57.3% but that number for Muslims is very low. The level of education decreases from primary to higher education. The graduation percentage for muslims in higher education in only 7.7%.

The circumstances of schools and teachers aren’t that good neither. According to the reports some schools don’t even have clean water to provide for kids and in some schools students use a mat to sit on for the whole year. The behaviour teachers have against the students is also very upsetting. According to the reports, the girl students are forced to clean the female teachers house. After taking the register the students are forced to go to their teachers home and do the cleaning and cooking, as a result the education gets exploit.

In 2017 60% of students that graduated from engineering hasn’t been able to find jobs. One of the major problems in India is child workers. 80% of children that live in villages are used as workers especially for farming. In 2011 1 out of every 11 children are reported working. There are 23 million children workers from the ages 15-18. In addition, India has the most deaths of children from the ages 0-5 in the world. They home one fourth of world population of poverty.

The secondary education splits to two fragments. Preparation and higher secondary education. It is recorded that 69% are registered to preparation fragment but on the other hand only 25% are registered for the higher secondary education. The registers are taken regularly and in 2013 it is recorded that only 24% have registered. Unfortunately, this is far away from all the developed countries and it just shows us how much work there needs to be done. More than 95% of kids are registered for pre school where as only 40% are registered for secondary education.

Education is considered to be important for the future of India and important investments are also done for this cause. Higher education and academic studies are done in government cooperation’s. Studies and investments that are done are a hope for the education system to be improved and exceptional in the near future.
